Traveller from Gort stayed in October,2008

The Kette Hotel is ideally situated near enough to St Marks Square and slightly off the main drag. It is on a canal and we had a fine room on the fourth floor with two windows allowing us a full view of same and the tourist laden gondolas . We could hear the gondoliers singing from our room as they passed which was quite a treat. The hotel had an excellent breakfast. All in all we had no complaints.

Top Tip:
Get a water taxi when arriving and also on departure. Dragging suit cases around with the address system in Venice ruins the ambiance. The water taxi trip is super in and around various canals including the grand canal; far preferable that to the gondola ride in my opinion.
