Traveller from Banbury stayed in May,2007

One of the 2 rooms booked (room 303) had a very low ceiling, about 2 metres in height and this was a mirror ceiling, which was unpleasant. This was the only one in the hotel but we felt it should have been at a lower rate.The hotel said it was a standard room. I asked why they used it when the hotel was not full, particuarly as we were staying 5 nights. They replied it was full but I did not think so.I would recomend that when you make bookings you specifically request not this room.Reception staff were very helpful and courteous. The breakfast room staff were not. The breakfast was poor. We were very pleased with the quiet location.

Top Tip:
Get water taxi from airport to hotel waterside entrance. Get 3 day ticket for water buses for unlimited use. Restaurants in DK eye witness guidebook were good and worth travelling to. Dont book Doge Palace less than 3 working days of departure. Best time to go round St.Marks 1.30pm. Long queues in the morning.
