I spent three nights here during Easter week. The hotel was a great location, - but don't expect big rooms. It was fine for me as I was traveling alone, but otherwise it would have been too small. The location is great, - right next to San Marco. The mattresses were rock hard however and very difficult to sleep on and the staff whilst not rude, not exactly talkative. I think it might be because the number of people that pass through there - they are probably sick of the same questions.
Top Tip
If looking for a hotel consider if you like walking, ..and really if you are in Venice you will be walking around everywhere. So in that case it does not matter at all where the hotel is, - as you just walk around everywhere and take the ferry boats. These are very well run and run all night, - so I would not bother with going for something too central unless you want a great view. Make an effort to get lost, - otherwise you do not get to see the amazing small little walkways and squares that are the heart of Venice. When eating, - do not go to the tourist areas, - as not only do you get ripped off, ...but the food is rubbish and the staff have no concept of service. It is best to take a walk and go somewhere quiet. I really do mean this even when it comes to the expensive places also, ..as I ate at a whole range including the very expensive places - and the standard is not what you would expect for the price you are paying.
