The Saturnalia and International Hotel was originally an ancient palace, built in the 14th-century and owned by the Pisanis, a family of the Doges. It was then owned by the Serandrei family from 1908, who for four generations have welcomed guests to it as a hotel. This wealth of history is very much present throughout the beautiful building, in the form of original doorways, window frames, masonry and wooden beams dotted all around. Yet the property combines these historic elements with contemporary style. The welcoming lobby features warm Venetian décor, with many original features retained. The lifts lead to the 93 guestrooms, which vary in size and style, again mixing the traditional with the contemporary. They are equipped with safe, mini bar, air-conditioning and satellite TV as standard. Some of the rooms have the original beams intact. All are en suite and the bathrooms are pleasantly appointed with marble tiles and flooring. Triple and quad occupancy can be provided. Internet access is available in the hotel, with two terminals on the second floor. There is also a first floor lounge area, providing a peaceful haven in which to work, read, or even play the grand piano. This first floor area and some public areas have WIFI in addition. Where guestrooms don't receive WIFI, the phone line can be used.
