Having visited this hotel on a previous occasion I do feel that now it is in need of an update!! Although on balance the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.
Top Tip
Lots of excellant restaurants and bars in the immediate area. Staff at the hotel can point you in the right direction!!

Breakfast buffet was very nice & plenty of. Didn't rate the dinner menu. Over priced, little selection for a non red meat eater. No vegetarian option. Only 1 chicken dish which was overpowered with red wine sauce.(if you order room service they add an extra 25%!) Hotel staff very friendly & helpful. Maid arrived every day. Very clean, quiet & well situated hotel. Close to St Marks square, on waterfront. Venice is beautiful & very picturesque.

Book any tours or trips before you go & save money. I booked a gondola ride with Expedia.com & also a walking tour with a boat cruise. All of which were great value for money.

The hotel was fabulous, the staff were charming. The location was 200 yards from St. Mark's Square, so near to everything but far enough so it wasn't noisey. Unfortunately, we didn't have a view but we were upgraded to a superior suite and the room was very comfortable and two along from the famous Danieli hotel. Next time i would follow up with a phone call to get a better room.

We travelled by Ryan Air Airport bus from Airport Treviso to Venice Bus Station, this was simple although make sure you buy a ticket as soon as you come through arrivals, otherwise you may have to stand or worse wait for the next bus which is 2 hours. Make sure you catch the water bus 42 or 52 to the hotel, the stop is located just outside the hotel, not good to be walking around Venice when you don't know where your hotel is, map reading is difficult when not all roads are shown and always find out the times back to Treviso, we were wrongly informed and had to pay £50 in taxi! If you are catching the 2.45 flight, the bus will leave Venice at 1210. We have just returned from Venice (16/12/07) and it was really, really cold, make sure you wrap up warm; hat, gloves, scarf, most of the Italians are in fur! It makes it more enjoyable to be able to walk around Venice and not feel the cold, i can't stress this enough!

A wonderful hotel where old fashioned standards of courtesy and service still exist. 2 minutes' leisurely stroll to St Mark's Square and right outside the hotel you can get vaporetti to all parts of the city and the lagoon. Even the airport transfer boats stops just outside!

Location of this hotel cannot be faulted. Next door to the World famous Danielli. The service and the helpfull staff made our four night stay very memorable. The restaurant is far superior to any within walking distance, added to this the 20% discount for residents makes it also so much cheaper.
Would I stay here again YES YES YES.

The desk staff were not at all friendly or helpful. They did not give correct information when I asked how to reach the hotel from the airport. I had thought we booked a junior suite for 3 adults. We were given a double room with an additional single bed in it. The room was dark and claustrophobic, because it was "winter" they had turned off the air conditioning despite the fact that it was in fact unseasonably warm. My daughter had a temperature and when I opened the windows, I found that we were between two walls: no natural day-light, the room was always dark, the noise from heating ducts made sleep impossible with the windows opened. I complained about this but the manager did nothing other than to offer me a room with windows opening out for an extra £150 Euros a day. Given that prices drop dramatically in November and they had spare rooms, this was not acceptable.

This hotel is in a good location, but because it has a narrow frontage, there are fewer rooms with a view. Our room was dark, down a long corridor and over-heated. No air-conditioning. The front desk staff were curt and unhelpful when I told them my daughter was ill. I was glad to leave after 4 nights.
