Fab location, in a quiet square, very close to St. Marks Square. You can hear the gondoliers passing along the canal from the room. Breakfast is good continental.

Top Tip
If you can't find the hotel ask in information in st. Marks Square. With Basilica behind you Information office is in left hand corner!! If you go to glass factory go in the morning, we went in the afternoon and were the only ones there. It was a bit intimidating!!!

Location couldn't be better for the waterbus, St Marks square and just about every other sight. The breakfast is basic continental but is sufficient to get you through to lunchtime. The room and bathroom was quite small but served a purpose. Front desk staff were very helpful and informative.

Top Tip
Local restaurants are plentiful but couldn't work out if the "service charge" which was percentage based and varied from place to place was actually the tip. The answer varied. Be on the lookout for a crafty trick which is to "accidentaly" add a very expensive bottle of wine, in our case it was over 200Euros!, to your bill. The waiter points out the error and removes the amount from the total bill. However he does not adjust downward the original service charge which would be based on the higher figure. I understand this is somewhat commonplace. Take the free speed boat trip to Murano it's great.

not enough pillows, breakfast was a bit limited. hotel was difficult to find with the site map But overall a very good position when eventually found. Could hear the gondola singers from room. Great position just off St Marks, and next to the gondola boats.

Our room was very small and next time I would ask for one which overlooked the little square. However at the time of year we went it was very cosy!

Top Tip
Be very careful when chosing a restaurant. The food is dear and be careful of the 15% service and 2euro cover charges.

whan arriving at the airport you need to buy tickets for boat which will take you directly to san marco 12 euros each. Whilst there a good way to see the grand canal is to catch the no1 vaperetto, & soak in the sights. Gondola was lovely but very expensive well worth doing though.. especially at dusk.

Breakfast could have more selection with facilities for toast and warm croissants. Internet service at hotel would have been useful. Otherwise an excellent and good value hotel.

Top Tip
Careful of the prices charged by restaurants, bars - Ask how much before it arrives. Poste Vecie ( by fish market) has excellent food. Free water taxi service to Murano is good deal.
