An elegant hotel offering a high standard of both service and decor, the Locanda Vivaldi dates from the 16th century and was last completely refurbished in 1999. Vivaldi himself taught music in this building, hence the name! On entering the large marble lobby you must turn right to the intimate reception desk where guests are invited to sit while checking in. Adjacent to the reception is a refined and cosy lounge area for guests' use. The 27 guestrooms are immaculate and plush with thick carpets and heavy fabrics. The decor is of a traditional Venetian style with matching bedding, walls and curtains. All air conditioned rooms are well appointed and feature safety box, mini bar, television, slippers and robes. There are 10 standard rooms which have views over the small canal to the side or to the back of the hotel over small streets. The 12 superior rooms face the lagoon. The remaining 5 rooms are suites. The hotel offers a Continental buffet breakfast from 7.30 am until 10.30 am in a bright an airy breakfast room, which has been split into two sections for a more intimate feel. The "Gritti Bar" is open from 4.00 pm until 11.00 pm serving a wide variety of drinks. During the summer months the 3rd floor terrace is open for dinner and also doubles as an open-air bar.
