The San Giorgio Hotel is housed in the wing of a Gothic palazzo which once belonged to the Pesaro family and which was later bought by the artist Mariano Fortuny y Carbó. Today the palazzo also houses the Fortuny Museum which features many of the artist's works including his stunning lamps made of printed and painted fabric. The interior of the hotel, featuring fine stucco work, Murano glass and garnet-red marble, creates an atmosphere of classic Venetian elegance. All 16 guestrooms are tastefully and elegantly appointed in typical 18th-century style. The hotel staff at the 24-hour front desk will be delighted to offer suggestions for guided tours, book tickets for a concert or organise car-hire for a sightseeing trip.
